Our Roots.
The Church was originally founded as a congregation for expatriate Presbyterian planters, miners, traders and colonial civil servants and their families in the early 1900’s. The actual church building was built in 1917, and remained a largely expatriate church for many years, catering to the various waves of foreign investment and the managerial and specialist staff involved. The local congregation element tended to be drawn from those who had educational experience overseas or who had other connections to an English-speaking congregation. In the last few years the congregation has become increasingly drawn from the local Chinese and Indian communities, but continues to attract many expatriate families from many nations, not just the Anglo-Saxon countries.

Who we are.

• Diverse: multi-cultural, multi-denominational, highly mobile, in a multi-religious society. This makes our congregation a unique and vibrant community, offering both potential as well as challenge.
• Biblical: protestant/evangelical, neither charismatic nor liberal, though we are open to and inclusive of different traditions and styles of worship.
• Providing a Christian base to the international community (Malaysian as well as expatriates) for worship, fellowship, training and outreach.
