In light of Pastor Keith’s 3 year contract coming to its end at the beginning of this October, the Sessions in its August meeting has decided to appoint the Rev Richard Tok to be our Interim Pastor for a period of 1 year starting from this September.
These were some of the considerations that we took into account:
in 2008 the Government changed its policy so that the maximum term for all foreign clerics is now for a period of 3 years once only and that Pastor Keith’s work permit has been stamped “final” the Pastor Search process could easily take up to more than a year we have to start the preparations for the coming Christmas season very soon
Rev Richard Tok needs no introduction as it was he, together with Rev Ron Woodward, who quickly filled in the gap for over 6 months from the time that Pastor Keith fell ill last November until he resumed his duties in July.
However, to keep our special ministry to the international community, and considering the current size of our attendees of around 420 for two services and the ideal pastor to attendee ratio of 1:150, the Sessions is also looking at appointing one more Interim Pastor, who shall be an expat, during this period. We seek God’s guidance and wisdom, and your prayer support as we move forward. In the meantime, we warmly welcome Rev Richard Tok.
