Foundation

With the Bible as our foundation and love as our goal, our Vision and Mission are drawn from the following biblical passages:

Philippians 1:9-10 (NIV)

[9] And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, [10] so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

Ephesians 3:17-19 (NIV)

[17 So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, [18] may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Core Values

Building upon the foundation of the Church, we have our core values which are the cornerstones of the Church, uphold it in all that it does. Our core values are:

· Mission

We find our strength and guidance for fulfilling these core values within our foundation, the Bible. We have taken the following texts from the Bible to focus on our core values.

Equip
Ephesians 4:12 (NIV)

[12] to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

2 Timothy 3:17 (NIV)

[17] so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Serve
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

[10] Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Ephesians 3:7 (NIV)

[7] I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power

Grow
2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)

[18] But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Ephesians 4:15-16 (NIV)

[15] Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. [16] From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Mission
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

[18] Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Mission

Building on our foundations and core values the leadership of St. Andrews has developed its Mission Statement which will be the basis for the growth of Gods work here in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia.

Our Mission Statement is:

Glorifying God, Knowing Jesus Christ
and Making Him Known.

Vision

Having thought deeply about our foundation, our core values and our mission we have developed from these our Vision.

Our Vision Statement is:

To present the living Christ to peoples of all nations

How

Having worked through this important project, we need to ensure that we can fulfill our Mission and Vision.

Therefore, Session and all Committees within St Andrew’s are tasked with fulfilling our Mission and Vision guided by the 7 Ds:

· Diverse worship services

· Discipleship to equip God’s people

· Devotion to prayer

· Desire to serve and care for the Body of Christ

· Disciplined stewardship of our spiritual gifts and resources

· Delight in the Word of God

· Dedicated participation in mission and evangelism
