The Festival Of Nine Lessons And Carols
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols led by Rev. John Roxborogh and Cantus Musicus will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on the 4th of December 2011 at 6.00pm sharp. Readings from the Bible on the nativity will be taken by members of the diplomatic corps in Kuala Lumpur with carols interspersed between the readings. Please come at least half an hour earlier to ensure seating as the sanctuary tends to fill up very quickly. The Jusz Kidz Choir will also be presenting a few carols.

GABRIEL FAURE’S REQUIEM
Cantus Musicus would be singing Gabriel Faure’s "Requiem" at 6.00pm on Sunday, 6 March 2011 in the St. Andrew’s Sanctuary. The accompanists to the choir are guest German pipe organist Matthias Gleich, guest violinist Colin Chang, and Lisa Ho on the keyboard synthesizer.
The “Requiem” would be sung as a special tribute to the late Armando Chin Yong (6 July 1958 – 2 February 2011), a devout Christian and Malaysia’s most famous operatic tenor. Maestro Chin has sung in St. Andrew’s before at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in December 2009. He was also a vocal teacher to some of the singers in Cantus Musicus who are also adherents of St. Andrew’s. He has also taught some of our Chancel Choir singers who also sing in the Yin Qi Christian Choir of which he was the Vice-President.
A free-will donation will be collected after the performance which will go to the widow and son of Armando Chin, who are facing some difficulties as a result of his unexpected passing.
