"A Night Of Worship" Concert @ St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church KL 7.30 pm on 14 Nov 2009 to raise fund for the Philippines and Indonesia. We hope to be able to bring them some Christmas joy this December.
For the Philippines, we intend to support Pastor Tim Warden (U.S.) of the San Fernando Christian Community at La Union, Luzon – http://christian.com.ph – and they’ve requested for Bibles, Study Bible Materials, Clothes, Towels, Bed Linen and First Aid Kits. We will also raise cash as some items may be available cheaper there, e.g. Bibles. If US-IRS tax-deduction is needed, it could go through All The World Mission Network. The details are at http://alltheworld.org/rp/index.php?pages_id=42&t=Donate .
For Padang, Indonesia, we will be partnering with ICM (International Christian Mission) – with our fundraising effort.
For donations, please mark on the Special Offering envelope with either “Philippines” or “Indonesia”. Please make out cheque donations to “St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church”. All donations will be disbursed according to the country designated.
For more details, please contact Beatriz Thoeny-Cruz @ 017 226 3598 (for Philippines) or Sandra Bambang @ 017 324 0533 (for Indonesia).
In spite of the current gloom, Christians have a reason to HOPE. Share this Hope with your family and friends, through uplifting music presented by the Singapore Presbyterian Church choir and their band. This is a wonderful opportunity to come hear the gospel of salvation.

Let your performance, to paraphrase Hudson Taylor, points toward the “illustrious Master” rather than “His humble servants”
Rev. Peter Chin, former GPM ESP Moderator, Senior Pastor and Founder of GEPC, has done so much for the Lord and His Church. Somebody described it as follows, “work is also in many chinese speaking young adults (his wife mentioned his strategy is wherever there is a Unitar mini campus, nearby, on the first floor of a shoplot – there would be a ministry – hence cells in Ipoh, Kampar, Kulai, Pontian, etc). Also assists in teaching within BM work in Muar, Johor, Pontian, Kluang, Senai, Skudai and Batu Pahat. The ministry also has co-planted 2 cells in (Baray, Koh Kong) Cambodia.”
Peter has suffered a massive stroke and undergone several operations. The fund raising is for his medical expenses which now stands at +RM100,000.00. Prayers are for his healing, family and the ministries that he has planted. The followings are the prayer requests for his family and that the ministries that he has started shall continue:
Pray for family Mrs Chin, Shawn (13), Chara (5) who would be adjusting as they relocate. They would be moving to Mrs Chin’s parents base, where her father is a elder and retired pastor with Klang Methodist this week or the next. Children would also be changing schools etc.
Rev Chin’s son – Shawn ,13, would be very keen to be involved even with the leg work. He is currently adjusting as the family would be moving to Klang.
They are praying that the work will continue, that the Lord would raise up people to lead various ministries planted. So far, leaders have been raised up and delegated for Ipoh and Kampar cells. 2 weeks ago, a week after the stroke, Pastor Diani took Rev Chins place to lead 1 team into Cambodia for the 2 cells, so the work is trying to continue as per normal as much as possible.
More details of his situation are on Gospel Esplosion Presbyterian Church’s website – http://gepckl.blogspot.com/ and Jacob Liaw’s Twitter – http://twitter.com/JacobLiaw
From what started as just a simple email on Sunday 31 May, 2009 about the possibility of a fund raising concert in respond to Andrew Siew’s email from Synod, Pastor Chua Hua Peng quickly gave us Logos KL’s support. Pastor Kong Chi Hai, GPM Synod Moderator, has also confirmed that he would be able to make it. Pastor Wong Fong Yang is helping us with the program. Pastor Richard Tok has also volunteered to help us out. The Logos Choir, Beacon Presbyterian Church, Doulos Presbyterian Church, San Ren Xin, SAVE (St Andrew’s band) and GEPC band (Peter Chin’s church) have all indicated their participations. St Andrew’s KL Youth band, Solid Rock will come back from Tapah for it. The Lord is gathering His people. We believe the Lord wouldn’t want it any other way. We’ve to do something. Even though it is a combined effort of several GPM churches who felt moved to do something for Peter, it is actually more than just for Peter – it could have been anyone of us, particularly for pastors like Peter who are in the “frontline”.
Praise to our God. Following on from our successful 2008 church camp, this years’ camp theme is Kingdom Impact in Changing Times. This is both timely & relevant in today’s turbulent global economy. Join us at this year camp, where as we stay together, worship together, play together, eat together & together study His word, we will have the opportunity to work out how together as a church we can overcome these challenges.
For this year’s campsite, the organizing committee has selected the new 5 star Holiday Inn Hotel, Malacca, located on the beautiful waterfront facing the Straits of Malacca and yet not too far away from KL – 2+ hours’ drive. This lovely hotel offers amenities for everyone young and old such as a formless swimming pool, jacuzzi, spa & gym, etc. And it is located next to many eateries and a shopping mall. Being a family camp, we cater to the needs of different age groups. Apart from Pastor Ooi Chin Aik to address the adults and parents, Dr Allen Teh, our team building coach, will use state of the art rhythm drums for the young and old to work together as a cohesive body for Christ at St. Andrew‘s. This is to build Christian Soldiers to rhythm. We rejoice that you can join us to study God’s word and have fun together for a mini church camp for one night and two days in exotic Malacca.
